Perhaps I should write Laneo's Diary?

LOL Terry yeah I know. I dont think I would have any stories either. But it just all seems to much like a filler. I mean WTF is going on with DH??? Is he on holiday??? Is he is on hiatus but actually going to break up with himself??? What new and exciting things are they working on??, or is that just what people say when theres absolutely nothing to say. Have we ever been this stagnet this early in an album?? Are they gearing up to start again with it all?? Is Lanas post the first step in this.. or did they just desperately search for anyone to speak??

*shakes head* I replied to that thread twice and I was very dissappointed to see that it had been removed it really is sad. I don't understand it at all! as everyone has said, it was not malicious or overly critical ect. It simply asked a question (and a valid one in my opinion) and expressed that a oppotunity was missed. What is so wrong with that!? God forbid people actually care about him doing as well as he can I'm tired of walking on eggshells and having to worry about every little thing you say being taken as "negative" I've just had it with everything related to being a fan.. I guess I was stupid to think that things would be different now with the public board but it's just the same. *sighs* I swore I wouldn't get back into it, but I did. I thought I would give it one more try. I just wonder why I still care so much anymore. Maybe it really is time for me to leave the online part behind I'm so sick of it all and yet something in can't let go *cries*

Hang in there Tamara, I can most definitely relate to everything you've said!

It is not silly or stupid to harbour some hope that in time things may change, after all there has to be hope based on the intelligence of the music Darren produces. In the meantime there are a few DH boards where intelligent conversations flow, thank goodness

Barb,
Thank you for your words I appreciate it and it
has helped knowing that I am not the only one
feeling these things. Darren's music means so
much to me, yet it has gotten more and more
difficult to put aside certain things. It is
frustrating not knowing what plans there are
for TTATS... I hate feeling this way You are
right there are at least a few places where fans
can have an intellegent, honest conversation
thankfully.

And sometimes I don't bother if one copy of the post has faded back and the other has all the comments. Just depends really.

I think what Dyan meant was if someone has asked afterwards why it was deleted. You or Steen would be willing to explain. I think the difference is you guys are approachable and willing to give a reason. If something happens on Sony that someone doesnt understand why.. they can go to you or Steen for clear clarification.

In some ways I think I can understand the PTB being careful - I keep coming back to that godawful problem with Schoolie at Capital last year and how DREADFULLY embarressing that was for everyone.

But in a way, the PTB are responsible for that - it's a vicious circle. They hold back info, the fans get antsy, any snippet they go wild, embarresses the PTB and Fan Base, back to square one - the PTB hold back because of previous mishaps.

All I can think of is "For God's Sake Darren, just lay it all out, and ride the feedback". Perhaps he's scared of revealing his next career step (or lack thereof) because he doesn't want the backlash like The Split.

But really, the longer it goes with a lack of communication, the harder it's going to be to get back on the horse with the fans. (did that make sense LOL)

Also, regarding communication - and this has been one of my bug bears about the FC Forum for a long time: If you DON'T want us to talk about political/tough/management/promotional issues, then TELL US OUT RIGHT. Give us the rules, written down. We might not like those rules, but at least we have guidelines to work within and KNOW when we've stepped out of line.

This whole "we'll make up a ruling to suit the situation" is really trust sapping.

I actually see another side to that. I think that if the PTB want fans that are 100% supportive in every way and all the time without any questioning, then I also think that they will also get fans who are going to go overboard in their rush to publically support Darren. To me, it's all a matter of ..... um, I can't think of the word .... proportion. If one aspect is out of wack, then it's likely that the other aspect will be out of wack as well.

BTW, to quote the "Fan 2 Fan" page of the FC:

"So basically, you get to be Fan of the Month by being... a great fan!"

There is nothing wrong with humor. In fact, it's odd for me to say what I'm saying because one of the things that I have commented on with friends is what I see an an astounding lack OF humor in the fan base. It's like everything has to be oh-so sincere and serious, and sometimes I want to scream "LIGHTEN UP, already! It's only music." lol

(Yes, there is humor and I know that as I write this someone or several someone's will point that out. But I'm sorry, to me the overall feel these days is one of overbearing seriousness and any humor always seems to be related to jokes about tying Darren to someone's bed. It's funny, but not after the 100th post.)

So yes, I acknowledge how odd that it is for me to say this next part........

Humor is wonderful and should be encouraged. But when it and fluff is all there is, it's like trying to live on a diet of marshmellow cream. After a time, your body cries out for real food.
